This is the Original Soundtrack to the British-American TV drama series created by Ronald D. Moore, based on the Outlander novel series of novels by Diana Gabaldon. The music is composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary and features vocal performance by Raya Yarbrough (“The Skye Boat Song”) and Jaraneh Nova (“Bear Killer” and “The Tale Of Otter Tooth”).
Season 4 of Outlander follows Claire and Jamie as they try to make a home for themselves in colonial America. They must negotiate a tenuous loyalty to the current British ruling class, despite Claire’s knowledge of the American Revolution to come. Meanwhile, things are getting complicated for Brianna and Roger in the 20th century.
The settings of the series were challenging for McCreary, since each culture and geographical location offers other potential musical influences for the score. The finished soundtrack supports all these different locations and even includes the banjo. As it was one of the most exhilarating creative challenges of his career you’ll hear the integration of both bagpipes, fierce Afro-Cuban polyrhythms and French baroque ornaments.
Outlander Season 4 is available as a limited edition of 500 individually numbered copies on smoke coloured vinyl and includes an insert.
