In the Garden of Venus is the sixth studio album by German synthpop duo Modern Talking. It was their last album to be released before they split up in 1987 (and reunited in 1998). Although it’s one of their lesser-known albums, it was widely embraced by fans. One single was released: “In 100 Years…”, a love song about someone who believes that the people’s lack of empathy and understanding could lead to a dystopian future in which all feelings, love included, are illegal, and stories of romance and humanity will become a memory. The Garden of Venus is filled with touching songs, both uptempo as well as ballads, some of which are considered to be among Modern Talking’s best work.
Modern Talking is one of Germany’s most popular musical products, selling over 120 million singles and albums throughout their career. In the Garden of Venus is now available as a limited edition of 2500 individually numbered copies on smoke coloured vinyl.
