Cult unleashes some of the band’s tastiest riffs and strongest songs yet while broadening Bayside’s musical palate. – Absolute Punk
Cult doesn’t rock the boat so much as reinforce it against any potential wear and tear, with Bayside never sounding so fired up. Ranked #46 on “The Top 50 Albums of 2014” – Kerrang!
Cult, released in 2014 is the band’s sixth album and first for Hopeless Records. Imagine a year filled with both immense highs and soul-crushing lows: losing loved ones (grandfather, stepbrother, stepfather), finding love (getting married), starting a family (having a child), and building a foundation (building a house). Bayside’s frontman, Anthony Raneri, lived through this rollercoaster in 2009, and poured the raw emotions – frustration, angst, love, and yearning – into the album “Cult.”
