Exclusive red 12″ vinyl, limited to 300 copies worldwide, sleeve signed by deep tan.
Hackney-based post-punk trio deep tan are back with their first new music of the year; the darkly angular, high-speed homage to a heavy night, ‘camelot’ . The new single comes alongside news of their debut EP ‘creeping speedwells’ which is being released via Practise Music on 4th June.
“‘camelot’ is an unashamed tribute to ‘the sesh’. a group of people have just been evicted with only 48hrs notice, leading them to have one last rager in order to forget about the stress of not finding a new home with such short notice. coming in at less than two minutes, the frenetic energy of the track sets the scene for total obliteration.”
With their previous single ‘deepfake’ , deep tan stripped away the light atmospherics and electronics of their earliest singles to reveal a more streamlined sound. Drawing sonic inspiration from the cold-wave side of post-punk, their latest offering continues this trend, marking them out as one of the most exciting bands in the UK now.
deep tan were added to the BBC 6 Music Introducing Playlist in November last year, and have previously enjoyed support from indie tastemaker press such as So Young, NME, DIY, Notion, Dork, The Line of Best Fit and Clash. deep tan have previously supported/played with Squid, Crumb, Faux Real, Lazarus Kane, Pregoblin, Jessica Winter and Nuha Ruby Ra. 2021 dates coming soon.
