A NEW screen print combining two of the studio’s favourite pastimes – talking about the weather (we are British after all) with our love of music.
The Barometer of Popular Music features the titles of 300 classic songs that are as obsessed by the sun, rain, wind and snow as we Brits are including Good Day Sunshine (The Beatles), Purple Rain (Prince), Blowin’ in the Wind (Bob Dylan), High and Dry (Radiohead), Blister in the Sun (Violent Femmes), Crying Lightning (Arctic Monkeys), Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers), The Wind Cries Mary (Jimi Hendrix), Mr. Blue Sky (Electric Light Orchestra), Rain or Shine (Young Fathers), The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore (The Walker Brothers), Blown Away (Pixies), Here Comes the Rain Again (Eurythmics), Little Fluffy Clouds (The Orb), Cloudbusting (Kate Bush), It’s Raining Men (The Weather Girls), Atmosphere (Joy Division), Changes (David Bowie) and 4 Degrees (Anohni).
The chart won’t be able to predict if you need to pack an Umbrella (Rihanna) before you head out to work but it will provide the soundtrack as you trudge through the Buckets of Rain (Bob Dylan).
Follow our Barometer of Popular Music Playlist on Spotify – consisting of 273 weather themed songs as featured on the print.
