In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, the original motion picture soundtrack will be released on 20th November as a gatefold double LP on 180g vinyl. Newly remastered, the original composition by John Williams was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

The Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back film and soundtrack were highly commended by the movie industry, where it went on to win two Academy Awards® and two Golden Globe® Awards. Williams’ score was awarded the Anthony Asquith Award for Film Music at the BAFTA Awards in 1981.
In a career spanning more than five decades, John Williams has become one of America’s most accomplished and successful composers for film and for the concert stage. He has composed the music and served as music director for more than one hundred films, including all nine Star Wars films.
Williams has won five Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, five Emmy® Awards and 25 Grammy® Awards.
