Mario Batkovic’s score to “Mad Heidi” is now available on LP. Pressed on orange vinyl, housed in a deluxe spined sleeve with printed insert and download card.
Batkovic’s score draws influence from classic film composers such as Ennio Morricone, interweaving his own synth heavy sounds and accordion textures. Mixing classical and contemporary sound, Mario Batkovic seeks to explore the sonic possibilities of the accordion, without effects or loops, rather through a mutualist symbiotic relationship between man and instrument. Challenging, hypnotic and grandiose; Batkovic’s symphonic vision is unique and he has received widespread critical acclaim, including Rolling Stone magazine who voted his self-titled debut album in the top 10 ‘best avant albums of 2017’.
Batkovic is well known for his score work on Red Dead Dead Redemption II, and his recent album ‘INTROSPECTIO’ which featured collaborations with electronic artist James Holden, drummer Clive Deamer (Radiohead/Portishead), saxophonist Colin Stetson and more.
